NCCA Consultations

Welcome to the NCCA's consultation section of the website. You have taken the first step in making your opinion heard on what will be taught, learned and assessed in all settings from early childhood to primary to junior cycle and senior cycle of post-primary.

We invite you to participate in any of the consultations below, whether you are a learner, a third-level student, a parent, a teacher, a policy-maker, an educationalist, a principal, an interested member of the public or a representative of an organisation—you get the idea, everyone can have their say! Simply click on whichever consultation/s you are interested in below and submit your views.

Keep an eye on this page over the coming months as there are many more consultations in the pipeline. We will also be gathering views from our NCCA committees and from our work with schools. Thank you for taking the time to play a part in contributing to leading and supporting change in education in Ireland.

Towards Learning: An overview of Senior Cycle Education

This overview looks at senior cycle as it is at the moment and points us towards where we might see it going in the future. It also gives some background to the values, vision and principles that have shaped the development and revision of syllabuses that you will see over the coming months.
