Innovation happens: Classrooms as sites of change

The video and paper, Innovation happens, focus on classrooms as sites of change. NCCA’s work across a range of settings for children between 0 and 6, primary and post-primary schools provided the inspiration. Innovation happens follows publication of the Report of the Innovation Taskforce (Government of Ireland, 2010) and a desire to put schools back in the picture. We think this is important when we consider that the leaders of tomorrow are sitting in the classrooms of today.

From our work with schools and settings, we see that innovation is often less about schools scaling the heights of external solutions and more about schools developing their own solutions with adequate external support and a curriculum that strives to become more current and relevant to today’s students.
