Aistear Toolkit

Aistear logo all pages

The Aistear Toolkit contains a number of resources to help you to begin to use Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework in your work with children. The Toolkit is a work in progress with items being added over the coming weeks and months. For now, check out the podcast An Introduction to Aistear which explains the different elements of the Framework.
If you'd like to take a closer look at some of the elements, go to Aistear's Principles and Themes for a brief description through children's eyes, of what the principles can look like in-action in early childhood settings. If you'd prefer to view this without audio, click on Aistear's Principles and Themes here.

If you are wondering how Aistear connects with Síolta, have a look at Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and Síolta, the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education - Audit: Similarities and Differences (PDF, 728KB).

Or, if you teach junior and/or senior infants, take a look at Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework and the Primary School Curriculum - Audit: Similarities and Differences (PDF, 753KB).

Over time, the Aistear Toolkit will include:
