Identifying goals

Identifying language goals in partnership with the children

The teacher in this story describes how she gave the children an opportunity to part of the planning and process of identifying learning goals in Gaeilge. After looking at what the children already knew or could do, she asked them to think about what they would like to be able to do in Irish next. We see examples of the children showing how they achieved their goals, and we hear the teacher and children reflecting on the value of what was a new experience for them.
