Leading and Supporting Change in Schools

Back to consultations

leading and supporting

This is a paper about change in education. Over the last year or so we’ve collected the thoughts of the NCCA Council, committees and staff on leading and supporting change in schools. The paper is a collection of these ideas. It’s not a policy on change. It’s not a plan to introduce specific changes. You would best describe it as a reflection on how change does or doesn’t happen in schools and in curriculum and assessment.

We’re presenting these ideas for consultation as part of the NCCA’s next Strategic Plan. For us, the idea of leading and supporting change is the most important context in which we will be working in the coming years. The ideas in the paper are set out as principles for change and we’d like to hear your views on them – whether you’re a learner, parent, teacher, school manager, educationalist or member of the general public.
