Physical Education

There are two Physical Education courses being developed; a non-examination curriculum framework for Physical Education and a syllabus for examination.

A proposed examination syllabus for Physical Education is currently being developed. A fundamental aspect of the syllabus is the commitment to student learning in, through and about physical education. An essential element of this is the need to integrate the learning which takes place in the practical aspects (Athletics, Games, Dance, Gymnastics, etc.) with the theoretical basis of the subject. A teaching and learning model which integrates the practical activities with those theoretical perspectives is being developed for discussion and as part of that proposal the use of a thematic approach in physical education is under consideration.
