Please find a number of draft planning frameworks to support both your short- and long-term planning, in English and Irish. There are a number of planning frameworks available to support you in using your own preferred style of planning.
The frameworks are presented in draft format to enable you to provide feedback. You can submit your views on the draft templates here. This feedback will be used to further develop and improve the planning frameworks.
Short term planning
The draft frameworks are presented as e-pdfs that allow you to type, save, edit and print. For ease of use, the Cuntas Míosúil is included in the short-term frameworks and can be completed at the end of a given month.
If you are using a PC, please use this free PDF software to edit and save. Mac-OSX users can edit and save these documents using Preview.
The templates range in specificity from template 1 to template 4.
Long term planning
Here you will find re-presented curriculum materials useful for planning. These developmental materials re-present the curriculum content objectives in a more user-friendly way.
The materials are available for English, Gaeilge, Mathematics, Science and Physical Education.
Please ensure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed to download and read this interactive file offline.
You can also download a curriculum overview wall-chart that presents the strands and strand units for all subjects here.

'glance cards' which highlight key curriculum content and the progression in objectives from infants to 6th class. We would like to thank them for their work on the early stages of our work in re-presenting the curriculum.
