New Resources on the Aistear Siolta Practice Guide

The Aistear Síolta Practice Guide is an online tool to support early years educators in using Aistear and Síolta together to develop the quality of their curriculum and in doing so, to better support children’s learning and development.

It showcases practice in Irish early childhood settings and is updated regularly with new resources, including information booklets, examples of everyday practice, expert inputs from educators and academics, self-reflection tools and bite-sized CPD. Over the past few months, we have worked with a variety of early childhood settings around Ireland to develop new and exciting resources for the Aistear Síolta Practice Guide. These include:

  1. Promoting the development of positive learning dispositions through caring for animals – this video highlights the potential benefits of caring for animals within the early childhood setting and shows practical examples of toddlers taking responsibility for feeding and caring for animals in the outdoor environment.
  2. Promoting the development of positive learning dispositions - Concentration and Perseverance – this video focuses on children of different ages in a range of learning environments demonstrating positive learning dispositions, such as concentration and perseverance.

There is an existing resource on the Practice Guide, Helping Babies and Toddlers to Develop Positive Learning Dispositions, to further support the development of positive learning dispositions within the early childhood setting.

All new resources and new videos can be accessed from the homepage of the Practice Guide.
