Senior Cycle Key Competencies

Senior cycle is changing and will soon focus more on our young people’s key competencies. We spoke to teachers, students, parents and others when we reviewed senior cycle. Many of them emphasised that who you become during your last years in school and who you are when you leave school matters. They said that your values and dispositions are as important as your knowledge and skills.

We’ve listened to this feedback and our redeveloped senior cycle curriculum will focus on how important it is for students to enhance their key competencies; on how knowledge, skills, values and dispositions work together to help us to learn, grow and develop as human beings.
